Animation about plastic in oceans

Working in collaboration with a narrator and illustrator, I prepared and post-produced the illustrations for animation, composing them within animation software to create a cohesive visual narrative.
My role included animating the flow and movement of individual elements, designing scene transitions, and shaping the visual journey from the mangrove forest through the underwater world down to deep sea life and back to the surface, using water movement, light reflections, and atmospheric effects to enhance the storytelling.

About 70% of our planet is covered by oceans and seas: large, full of life and mysterious.

The oceans are a source of food, way of transportation, oxygen producer, and more. But the sea is in danger: overfishing, plastic waste, acidification, species extinction. We need to better understand the marine life and deal with it in a sustainable way, because our life is closely linked to the sea. If it is sick, we cannot stay healthy.

The video was released in German, English, and French and was shortlisted for the 2017 KIT Science Film Award.
